Cats for Adoption in Hudson County, New Jersey

RescueTheCats.com
finds forever homes for cats and kittens rescued from the streets of Hudson County, New Jersey.

RescueTheCats is a small rescue which closely monitors our foster cats and kittens for any sign of disease or other issues that would affect their adoption.  Unless otherwise indicated, all our fosters have received veterinary care including routine vaccinations, been tested for FIV and FeLV and found negative.

At the appropriate age, our fosters are spayed or neutered.  In finding homes for our cats and kittens, we try to give our clients an accurate description of their temperament and habits to help them choose the best cat for their lifestyle.

At RescueTheCats, we are particular about our adoptions.  We require an application form and references from anyone wishing to adopt one of our rescues.

If you have thought seriously about adoption and want to adopt from a carefully managed rescue, you will appreciate our cat oriented approach.  A cat is a longtime commitment and an adoption should not be entered into lightly.  You should also be prepared for the cost of veterinary care for your cat.

While our cats and kittens wait for their forever home, they eat good quality food and "play well with others". They receive some attention; but, it is not the same as having their own home.

Please visit our  Adoptable Pets at Petfinder  for uptodate photos, descriptions and personal stories about our adoptable cats.  And, for those very special people, please make sure to check out our  Special Needs Cats  above.

Also, visit our  Helpful Links  page for links for new cat owners and other kitty links we have found useful.

RescueTheCats encourages and practices "TNR" which means we "Trap, Neuter and Release" feral cats that are not adoptable. The purpose of TNR is to help reduce the number of homeless cats.  TNR is accepted throughout the country as the most effective way over time to reduce the number of homeless cats.  Please contact us for more information on TNR.
